Founded by bartender Shaun Byrne and winemaker Gilles Lapalus, Maidenii was created to showcase Australia’s unique native botanicals in a vibrant, fresh vermouth.
Combining Shaun’s expertise in cocktails with Gilles’ deep winemaking knowledge, they crafted a distinctive spirit using Victorian wine, wormwood, and a secret blend of 34 botanicals, including native ingredients like strawberry gum and river mint.
Since its launch, Maidenii has grown from a boutique offering into an award-winning, internationally recognised vermouth, redefining Australia’s place in the world of aperitifs.
